We’re back with another 18+ craft social just in time for Christmas! ❄️✨

Join us for a fun, relaxed evening of festive printmaking inspired by Sanna Annukka and Scandi folk art. We’ll be building simple collagraph plates using recycled materials and playing with shape and texture to depict festive scenes – think frosty forests, cosy cabins and winter wildlife.

We’ll use this technique to create a stack of beautiful seasonal prints and DIY some hand-printed wrapping paper. No experience needed – just come along for a relaxed, friendly evening of creativity, good chats and a little festive cheer.

Had an extra arty week last week, taking part in some of the amazing @orig_proj OTHERWISE… [intensive] workshops across Great Yarmouth. Also managed to squeeze in a visit to @anterosarts to see the @artatworknorwich Threads of Connection exhibition which was so interesting and inspiring!

Love being able to learn from the amazing creative community in Norfolk (and finding our own little place within it)!

Some super cute circle weaving from our Autumn Half-Term Art Club last week! We took inspiration from Mexican folk art, especially the amazing fibre art of the Huichol people.

Don’t have many pics of videos of this or the yarn painting we did as I got a bit too into it myself - might have spent a few evenings in front of the tv weaving circles since then… As one of the kids said, “This is actually really relaxing!” 😂

 Inspired by the stunning stitched portraits of Victoria Villasana and Hollie Chastain’s colourful collages, this workshop is all about turning selfies (or snaps of your favourite people – yes, Paul Mescal counts) into vibrant mixed media portraits.

We’ll use our mini thermal printer to print your chosen photo, then show you how to layer it with colourful collage, paint pens and simple embroidery stitches on paper to create something full of personality and texture.
No sewing experience needed – just come ready to experiment, have fun, and meet some friendly faces!

 We’ll show you how to build your own bead loom using simple materials, then guide you through creating bold, eye-catching woven designs. Inspired by Jessica Flores (@ukaome), we’ll take cues from her vibrant beadwork rooted in the colours and patterns of Mexican folk art.

Another fun project from our Sculpture Club at Charles Darwin Primary! Expressive masks inspired by the Dogon tribe from Mali 🎨 🎭 🇲🇱

This was meant to be a shorter one but the kids had so many ideas for extending it – LOVE it when they end up steering the project!! We started off with just cardboard and egg cartons but they asked me to bring in beads and wire - wasn’t sure why initially but then they started adding nose rings and all sorts of dangly elements! Lots of mess, colour and fun ❤️
